Jikjisa

sa means temple

Yesterday was Buddha's birthday. So, Micah, Josh, and I went to Jikji temple, it was wild. It smelled really good. During the summer months, there are grape picking experiences at Jikjisa.

There is something special about the three level stone tower, I'm not exactly sure what is is, but you might be able to find out here:

It was not very difficult to get to the temple from the city of Kim Cheon. We took the bus to Kim Cheon and took about a 20 minute taxi ride up the mountain. It was beautiful, I saw one other foreigner, she was with a Korean guy, and then there were the three of us (Micah, Josh, and I); there weren't very many foreigners there. There is a good picture of the plaza area here:

There is a big park area with lots of cool ststues and a few manmade waterfalls and a pavillion for outdoor concerts and totem poles and stuff. I found this smooth rock that I really liked, and it was slightly raining, and that made it even more enjoyable:

We were there in the late afternoon, and this band was warming up for a nighttime concert. I requested The Mars Volta Korean-style, and the conductor turned to me, and said, "ok, we play this now":

This one's a little big, but it is way worth it. I'm going to have to put H.264 on it to make it fit, I hope you don't mind:

And then we had Indian Food.

Why can't you just pose and smile like a normal person? Weird. O. Actually, just kidding, because who I am to talk, really? I love you.
