Nobody else here does. That makes me very awesome.
I ran into some of Micah's high school students the other day, one of them said to me, "oooohhhh, vintage-ey pants!!" I'm not going to give him my pants.
Please go see Star Trek. Not just because the guy who makes Lost directed it, or because Sylar from Heroes is in it, or because the guy from Shawn of the Dead is Scotty, or because Leonard Nimoy is in it, but because it is a sweet movie. Talk about a mismanaged franchise, though. Star Wars is like BOOOWOOPOOSHHH and Star Trek is like uhhhhhhhhh. Where are the hords of unopened boxes of action figures for sale on ebay? I really hope that after this movie they make some bitching action figures. I want an awesome replica of the U.S.S Enterprise. You know, though, that is another example of what I'm talking about about the franchise being mismanaged. I feel that, in certain ways, the franchise was sabotaged from the start. The Federation is a peacekeeping organization from Earth, yet all of the ships seem to have a U.S.S. in front of the name? What is up with that? And why does everyone speak English like an American would? I mean, I totally love the USA and everything, (my tongue is pressed very firmly against the inside of my cheek), but we are not the most important country on the planet. I'm sure that certain individuals would love to debate that statement, but seriously now. The USA has a major consumption problem and severe obesity and diabetes epidemics. In my opinion, it is a dirty rotten shame that advertising and corporations have created a "halo effect" around everything from the USA over the past 50 years. Watch this video:

The lady in the video makes some wild statements, I recognize this. Don't take everything that she says seriously. Good food for thought, though. Watch this too:

I saw the Star Trek movie last night in Daegu. It had Korean subtitles, but not overdubs, thank goodness. I don't think that overdubs are common in new movies that you would see at the cinema. It was only 7000 won, seriously like HALF of what we would pay in the states. I really felt like I was in America for a little while, I got so into the movie that I didn't notice the subtitles anymore... But when it was over immediately everyone started filing out, and then I remembered where I was. Micah and I were the only ones who stayed to watch the credits. A lot of times in Korea things are like that. Start, finish, get out. Restaurants, shops, video games, transportation... On the trains, everyone likes to line up by the door before the train has even stopped at the station!?! I think that those kinds of situations will always baffle me. I played "I'm Only Sleeping" a few times on the guitar as soon as I got up today. I think that I might play it in my after school guitar class next week.
"When I wake up early in the morning,
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream
Please don't wake me, no
don't shake me
Leave me where I am
I'm only sleeping
Everybody seems to think I'm lazy
I don't mind, I think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find, there's no need
Please don't spoil my day
I'm miles away
And after all
I'm only sleeping"
