skiing

I get kind of a kick out of Micah in the picture below:





















I've realized that walking in Korea is like skiing, but contact skiing. In the same way as skiing, people are always turning in different directions and the slower ones are definitely not looking in any other direction than the way that they are going. And, in the same way as skiing, you have to watch out for the people who you are moving toward and are also going in the same direction, and steer around them.

But the contact part. In skiing you rarely come in contact with each other. But, walking in Korea, it is amazing how much pushing and bumping takes place. All of this is very normal to a Korean person, but, to me, even to this day, sometimes I turn around and glare at the person, (that sort of thing does not often work here), but I still do it because it is the first thing that occurs to me. I always feel like someone is trying to steal something out of my backpack, but no, they're just shoving past me.
